A regular business council meeting was held in the RES sector

The seventh meeting of the initiative for renewable energy was held on 20.06.2023. in the city of Kavala and aimed to strengthen cooperation between the regions, focusing especially on the partnerships between Greece and Bulgaria in the energy sector. It was organized by the association "Development of culture tourism environment" - DE. CU.T.E. under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" financed by INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 program, Subsidy contract №B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.

Participants engaged in a focused discussion on the following key topics:
Cooperation with other regions: The participants explored the possibilities of cooperation with other regions of Greece and Bulgaria. Discussions revolved around identifying common challenges facing energy utilities in these regions and how they can use collaborative partnerships to collectively address these challenges.
Identification of common problems: The meeting included an analysis of common problems faced by energy companies in Greece and Bulgaria, such as regulatory complexities, market uncertainty and infrastructure constraints. Participants shared insights and experiences to identify areas where mutual support and collaboration could be beneficial.
Analysis of the legislative system: A detailed analysis of the legislative systems regulating the energy sector in Bulgaria and Greece was carried out. Participants compared and contrasted the regulatory frameworks, incentives and policies in the two countries to identify areas of convergence and divergence.
Opportunities for mutual support: Attendees explored opportunities for mutual support and collaboration, including sharing of best practices, technology transfer, joint research and development initiatives, and advocacy for favorable regulatory reforms.

The seventh meeting of the Business Council for Renewable Energy marked a significant step towards promoting cooperation and partnership between the energy business in Greece and Bulgaria. By identifying common problems and exploring opportunities for mutual support, participants expressed optimism for stimulating sustainable growth and innovation in the energy sector in the regions.
