A regular meeting of representatives from the tourism industry was held in the town of Limenas on the island of Thassos

The meeting was held on 26.05.2023. and was held in connection with the "Business Council - BC 6275" project financed by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 program, Subsidy contract №B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.

The meeting brought together representatives of the tourism business to discuss the prevailing challenges and explore ways of cooperation.

Participants engaged in a frank dialogue to identify and prioritize common challenges facing the tourism sector in Thassos and the region as a whole. Issues such as seasonality, infrastructural and marketing constraints and lack of skilled personnel were among the topics discussed. The session focused on brainstorming potential solutions and support mechanisms to address the identified challenges. Mr. Papadopoulos facilitated discussions on the use of collaborative networks to pool resources, share best practices, and advocate for industry-specific initiatives.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of network cooperation to overcome sectoral challenges. Participants highlighted the value of collective action in lobbying for policy changes, accessing funding opportunities and promoting destination marketing efforts.
Despite a smaller than expected turnout, the workshop at Cafe Merlot on Thassos led to productive discussions and practical ideas to address challenges in the tourism sector.
