A regular meeting of the Business Council in the Waste Management sector was held in Blagoevgrad
On 08.04.2023 from 15:00 in the city of Blagoevgrad, a regular meeting of the Business Council was held in the Waste Management sector in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardzhali and Smolyan, and the activity is carried out under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" financed by the INTERREG V program/ A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020, Subsidy contract No. B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.
The meeting was attended by five representatives from the Waste Management sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardjali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. Hall 1 at 23 Todor Aleksandrov St. in Blagoevgrad was engaged. It was technically secured, being equipped with: multimedia, laptop computer, printer, microphone/s and sound system, as well as information boards, banner and presentation materials, according to the requirements of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria Program Communication and Publicity Guide 2014-2020. In addition, disinfectants were provided, as well as water, coffee, tea to ensure the coffee break of the event.
The moderator of the event welcomed everyone present, giving a few minutes to introduce the new members, then drew attention to the Rules of Procedure of the Business Council.
The topic of free discussion that was touched upon at the meeting was about the proper recycling of construction waste.
Despite the energy, economic and demographic crisis, the construction industry continues to hold high positions in the economy of our country. A large part of the savings of people in Blagoevgrad region are invested in some form of construction.
The members of the council shared their experience in the disposal of construction waste and the difficulties they face. According to statistical data, there are only 12 municipal landfills for construction waste and 27 regional landfills for waste in our country, and only the regional ones function according to the regulations in Ordinance No. 8/24.08.2014. norms. In this regard, companies in the construction industry face increasing difficulties in complying with the provisions of the European Union and Bulgarian legislation.
Council members seek assistance from the project management team for a meeting with the local authorities to present their concerns and propose solutions that they believe, with joint efforts, can alleviate the situation of the entrepreneurs, as well as not put the environment at risk environment.
