A regular meeting of the Business Council in the Textile sector was held in the town of Kardzhali
On 07.04.2023 at 17:00 in the town of Kardzhali, a regular meeting of the Business Council concerning the Textile sector was held in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardzhali and Smolyan, and the activity is carried out under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" financed from the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 program, Subsidy contract No. B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.
Eight representatives of the sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardzhali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan attended the meeting. The meeting of the Textile Business Council was held in the Hall of the "Europe in Dialogue" Association, Kardzhali. It was provided technically, being equipped - multimedia, portable computer, printer, as well as information boards, banner and presentation materials, according to the requirements of the Communication and Publicity Guide of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 program. In addition, disinfectants were provided, as well as water, coffee and tea to ensure the event's coffee break.
The moderator of the event welcomed all the attendees by making a brief presentation of the Rules of Procedure of the BS in the Textile sector. After that, a free discussion started on issues of BS members.
The topic of the free discussion revolved around the consequences of the pandemic caused by Covid 19. In contrast to the negative effects that the pandemic has on almost every branch of our country's economy, the textile industry reports growth in sales and demand for production. During the pandemic, a large number of enterprises reoriented their production and began to manufacture protective clothing for a number of medical facilities in the country and abroad. The high quality of the manufactured products is a prerequisite for the increase in orders and the demand for finished products.
This is a big plus for the economy in the area, the representatives of the industry signal the lack of qualified labor and the turnover of personnel in the sector. A large part of the well-trained staff are looking for a living abroad or in the larger settlements of our country.
The project management team shared their experience in organizing information campaigns to arouse the interest of young people. The team undertook, together with representatives of the local government, to compile brochures to be distributed in educational institutions and youth clubs in the territory of the district.
