The meeting was attended by seven representatives of the sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardzhali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. The meeting hall of Jebel Municipality was engaged. The hall was technically equipped, being equipped with multimedia, laptop, printer, microphone/s and sound system, as well as information boards, banner and presentation materials, according to the requirements of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria 2014 Program Communication and Publicity Guide -2020. In addition, disinfectants were provided, as well as water, coffee and tea to ensure the event's coffee break.

The moderator of the event welcomed all the attendees by making a brief presentation of the Rules of Procedure of the BC in the Materials and Technologies sector. After that, a free discussion started on issues of BC members.

The topic of today's discussion was the environmental impact of increasingly intensive mining operations. Logging in the area is well developed and employs a large number of people, but those present at the meeting are concerned about the negative consequences affecting the local environment.

In this regard, the representatives of the sector have ideas to initiate, together with the representatives of the local authorities, days in which to renew the fellings on the territory of the district. The idea proposed by the attendees is to regularly purchase saplings to be planted in place of the cut down trees.

A member of the council proposed to include both representatives of the local government and representatives of all social groups in the community in the initiative described above. For the dissemination and implementation of the idea, the members of the BS will rely to a large extent on help from the local authorities.

The project management team "embraced" the idea of the attendees and made a commitment to introduce it to local government representatives.
