The last meeting of the Business Council in the Tourism sector was held

On 28.03.2023 at 16:00 in the village of Banite, the last regular meeting of the Business Council concerning the Tourism sector in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardjali and Smolyan was held, and the activity is carried out under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" financed by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 program, Subsidy contract No. B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.

The meeting was attended by five representatives of the Tourism Sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardjali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. The meeting was held in the meeting hall of Banite Municipality. It was technically equipped with multimedia, a laptop, a printer, as well as information boards, a banner and presentation materials, according to the requirements of the Communication and Publicity Guide of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 program. In addition, disinfectants were provided, as well as water, coffee and tea to ensure the event's coffee break.

The moderator of the event welcomed all the attendees and started the event by introducing the new members of the council and giving a brief information regarding the Regulations for the work of the BS in the Tourism sector.

The topic of the free discussion was about the infrastructure leading to the municipality.

The village of Banite is an established balneological resort of national and international importance. The unique characteristics of the water in the village attract those in need of rehabilitation and treatment. The beautiful nature, sights and ancient history add additional conditions for the development of tourism in the region.

According to the present members of the council, the only minus that plays a significant role in the development of SMEs is the leading infrastructure. Tucked away in the Middle Rhodopes, the village is difficult to reach - the road is long, with many turns and many people refuse to travel precisely because of its remoteness.

The shorter route passes through the village of Lucky, but the road is full of potholes and crossing it is risky - damage to the road vehicle, and often a risk to life.

Therefore, the present members of the BS made a proposal to organize a meeting with the representatives of both the local authorities and the road agencies in order to find a solution to the problems.
