The moderator of the event welcomed everyone present, giving a few minutes to introduce the new members, then drew attention to the Rules of Procedure of the Business Council.

The free discussion started with the attendees sharing their disappointment with the tourists, who already outnumber the local residents in the city of Bansko all year round. This is one of the main reasons that during the strong season of winter and summer, maintaining the cleanliness of the settlement becomes more and more labor-intensive.

Especially with the high temperatures in summer, litter problems are often noticed in more and more places.

Those present shared their opinion that it is necessary for the local authorities to approach responsibly in order to overcome the problem by organizing the following things:

  • Increasing the frequency of waste collection;
  • Placement of additional collection containers, including those for separate waste collection;
  • Raising the awareness of the population - local and tourists, through the preparation of brochures with advice on the correct recycling of non-harmful household waste, as well as with appeals to dispose of all rubbish in the designated places.

The project management team undertook to make recommendations to the local authority for organizing the above-mentioned events.
