The next regular meeting of the Business Council in the RES sector was held in the town of Smolyan

On 10.03.2023 from 17:00 in the town of Smolyan, a regular meeting of the Business Council was held in the Renewable and energy sources sector in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardzhali and Smolyan, and the activity is carried out under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" financed by the INTERREG program V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020, Subsidy contract No. B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.

Five representatives of the RES sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardzhali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan attended the meeting thus organized. The meeting of the business council started on time in present mode. The meeting was held in the "Rotary" hall, "Kyparis alpha" hotel in the town of Smolyan. The hall was technically secured, being equipped - multimedia, portable computer, printer, as well as information boards, banner and presentation materials, according to the requirements of the Communication and Publicity Guide of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 program. In addition, disinfectants, protective masks, as well as water, coffee, tea were provided to ensure the coffee break of the event.

The moderator of the event welcomed all the attendees and started the event by making a short digression to introduce the new members and brief information regarding the Rules of Procedure of BS in the RES sector.

The free discussion once again started with the call for legislative changes in the sector. The focus this time was on financing, as an opportunity to expand actions in the RES sector. A council member expressed his opinion that the private sector, in order to increase its efficiency, needs to attract and increase investment. For this purpose, new market promotion policies need to be outlined to enable and stimulate new solutions in the sector, while at the same time protecting consumers and system security.

Those present at the council are of the opinion that only through a broad approach to stimulate the development of the market, investment obstacles will be removed and the sector will fully develop its potential. Thus, our country will successfully participate in the implementation of Europe's plan to reduce greenhouse emissions.

The project management team undertook to familiarize the local authorities with the proposals of the BC members and to initiate the organization of a round table with all interested parties, incl. local government.
