A regular meeting of the Business Council was held in the Health sector

On 19.11.2022from 16:00 in the city of Blagoevgrad, a regular meeting of the Business Council in the Health sector was held in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardjali and Smolyan, and the activity is carried out under the project "Business Council - BC 6275" financed by the INTERREG V/A program GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020, Subsidy contract No. B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.

The meeting was attended by a total of 6 representatives of the sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardjali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. Hall No. 1, located at Todor Aleksandrov Street No. 32 in the city of Blagoevgrad, was engaged for the meeting.

The moderator of the event welcomed all the attendees by making a brief presentation of the project and the Rules of Procedure of the BC in Health Care

The representatives of the sector present shared that the main problem is quality and affordable health care, in which patients are satisfied with the medical services, and those working in the sector are satisfied with their working conditions. In both directions of the problem described in this way, it is imperative that the responsible institutions take action.

The Business Council identified several main guidelines for achieving quality and affordable healthcare, as follows:

  • Adequately increasing the role of the state in the regulation of processes and resources in the health system (expressed in a new political attitude to the nation's health problems with a view to guaranteeing socially fair access to medical care, systematic improvement of the regulatory framework and internal and harmonization, realistic setting of priorities , control over the quality and use of public resources);
  • Improving the integrity, structure and effectiveness of the management of the national health system in the direction of effective coordination and interaction between the different levels and sectors of the health system;
  • Creating a new public and individual attitude to health as a right and responsibility of the individual and seeking consensus when making health-political decisions, as well as with more direct involvement of citizens in the implementation of health reform and cost control.
