Another regular meeting of the Business Council was held in the Materials and Technologies sector
On 28.03.2023 at 15:00 in the village of Banite, a regular meeting of the Business Council was held in the Materials and Technologies sector in the border regions of Blagoevgrad, Haskovo, Kardzhali and Smolyan, and the activity was carried out under the project "Business Council - BC 6275 ” financed by the INTERREG V/A GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020 program, Subsidy contract No. B6.3a.18/13.04.2021.
The meeting was attended by five representatives of the sector from the border regions of Haskovo, Kardjali, Blagoevgrad and Smolyan. The meeting hall of the Municipality of Banite was engaged. The hall was technically equipped, being equipped with multimedia, laptop, printer, microphone/s and sound system, as well as information boards, banner and presentation materials, according to the requirements of the Interreg V/A Greece-Bulgaria 2014 Program Communication and Publicity Guide -2020. In addition, disinfectants were provided, as well as water, coffee and tea to ensure the event's coffee break.
The moderator of the event welcomed all the attendees by making a brief presentation of the Rules of Procedure of the BC in the Materials and Technologies sector. After that, a free discussion started on issues of BC members.
Those present at the meeting shared with the project management team about the potential that the municipality of Banite has for the development of the logging and woodworking industry.
More than 60% of the territory of the municipality is covered with forests, but the members of the council are of the opinion that logging can be further developed and earn a living for a significant part of the population of the municipality.
In connection with the above, however, there is the problem of the lack of qualified labor - one of the main problems registered by the team during the holding of the BS meetings. The work is hard, the terrain is difficult to access and often the difficult conditions prove to be an insurmountable problem.
The members of the council suggested that an information campaign be made, together with the local authorities and the labor offices in the territory of the municipality, through which to attract young people to train and develop in the sector.
